Events

CADME is pleased to continue to provide outstanding opportunities for music teachers and students. The following events are upcoming in 2011-2012:

1. Attention music teachers: mark Tuesday, January 24, 2012, on your calendars and approach your administrators. CADME will be running an all-day jazz education workshop for teachers with Maria Schneider. This will be a full-day workshop starting at 9:30 a.m. The morning session will run until 12:00 noon. We will resume at 1:30 p.m. and continue until 4:00. Each session will feature Maria working with a different high school jazz ensemble. The intent is to provide an opportunity for workshop participants to have the opportunity to spend some time rehearsing the band and to discuss rehearsal techniques with Maria as well as the other participants.

The workshop will take place in the band room at William Aberhart High School. To register, simply send an email to Kevin Willms (klwillms@cbe.ab.ca) indicating you will be there. ALL participants must be CADME members – visit the Members section of the website for a registration form.

In preparation for the workshop, participants are encouraged to attend her rehearsal with the Calgary Jazz Orchestra on Sunday, January 22 from 3:30 – 5:30 p.m. in the University of Calgary Theatre.
